Mimi and the Man - Lessons Learned from the Bossman

 I'm six months into the new job and it's coming along swimmingly. I'm learning about business up close and personal. The Bossman has made a point to pass along business and life lessons every step of the way. Here's a few: 

1. A good support system is essential. Have your Board available when things are looking down as well as when they are looking up. 

2. Success in business and life begins wtih self reflection. Continually ask yourself, "Who am I?" "What do I want out of life?" "How can I manifest success today?" "Do I look good in stripes?" 

3. Stand on your own two feet. Never stand on anyone else's. 

4.    Never stop reading. Never stop learning. Never stop buying books. Never stop buying bookcases. 

5. When taking new risks, consult with a more senior member of your team...

...and study the secrets to their success. 

6. Self care is a necessity, not a luxury. Spa treatments with trusted professionals are rejuvenating. 

8. Eat healthy and everybody's happy.

9. When a member of your staff volunteers to take on a task, let them. 

10. Dress the way you want to be perceived. 

11. Develop a taste for the Arts. 

12. Take chances. 

13. Think Big.
